Goal

The objective for this project is to expand your understanding of HTML, Dreamweaver, and Photoshop/ImageReady through the creation of a website that tells an interactive story.

Description

Story can consist of many things, from mundane daily activities to abstract visions that push the concept of "story."  Who are the characters? What is the setting? What actions take place? Whose point of view is it told from?  Or is it told from multiple points of view?  Is it told in the 1st person? Linear or nonlinear? What is the plot, is there a plot, is there a beginning middle and end?

Use your talents and integrate them with interactive media.  Give the user the opportunity to engage in your work and interact with it in some meaningful way.

The website pages will be created using HTML, Dreamweaver, and Photoshop/ImageReady, but you may also insert media such as sound, video, and flash animations as elements in your HTML pages.  Warning, don't bit off more than you can chew.  If you choose to use Flash keep it simple, I will only be covering the very basics of animation in Flash.

Grading

Your project grade will be based on:
                 
Handing in a Storyboard and Proposal.

Aesthetics, does it work visually, temporally, and interactively to strengthen the telling of the story.  Are you able to express yourself creatively through the medium of the web.

Technical competence, appropriate and skillful use of the selected tools.  (If you are having trouble simplify, focus on really getting a grasp on the basics)

Turning in Project

You will turn in all files into a folder called “Project Turn-In” on the server. Your

folder within it will be “yourname_proj_03" containing only those files necessary to be functional (just the .html, .jpg, .gif, .swf files, NO .psd, .fla, .tif files).  You will also be responsible for purchasing a domain name and web hosting services.  Post your project to your web server and email me the web address.
